Cake Wrecks

I discovered this blog (http://cakewrecks.blogspot.com/) through my cousin's blog (http://ledaanddavid.blogspot.com/). If you're having a bad day and are in need of a laugh, I highly recommend taking a look at Cake Wrecks. Not only are the cakes hilarious but the commentary of the blogger cracks me up. The first night I went to the blog, I spent a good 45 minutes reading it. I think it's every Sunday (though I could be wrong) that the blogger posts about non cake wrecks. So far I think the Lord of the Rings and the Dragons are the best, but then, I just barely made it to December of last year in her posts.

Maya Grace

On January 25, 2009, I became an aunt! Maya Grace Olsen was born at 7:37 pm. She weighed 7 pounds 13 ounces and was 20.25 inches long. She's beautiful! And I can't wait to meet her. She and my sister are coming on April 1 and I'm so excited! I'm mostly excited to see what color she is as my sister is a nice pale Irish girl and my brother-in-law is a nice dark Guatemalan boy. See?So far she's light like her mommy but her eyes are turning to a dark brown. She's getting so big! The first picture is of her at 7 days old and the next is her at 29 days.

And this is my favorite. When I went to visit during Thanksgiving last year, Ross dressed up Boomster (Shannon's teddy bear that she's had since high school) in the little bear outfit.

And here's Maya in the same outfit!

Thankful Thursday

Every Thursday my sister does "Thankful Thursday" and talks about something that she's thankful for. Today I'm thankful for technology! My niece was born one month and one day ago in Salem Oregon. Although I haven't met her, I've been able to see pictures and videos through her blog at http://mayagraceo.blogspot.com/. I've also been able to hear her in the background when I talk to my sister on the phone. Even though I'm 3,000 miles away, technology allows me to get to know my beautiful niece. :)
